Are you overloading your Liver?
July 6, 2009These are things that could be overloading your liver:
- Consuming large amounts of overheated hydrogenated”junk food” or trans fats – e.g. french fries, fried chicken, doughnuts, chips etc.
- Heavy coffee consumption (more than 16 oz. per day)
- Regular alcohol consumption
- Smoking
- Spending long hours driving on crowded, exhaust filled roads and highway – e.g. truck drivers, taxi drivers, 1 to 2 hours per day commuters
- Candidiasis ( an overgrowth of Candida Yeast in your intestines
- Routine consumption of 8-12 (or more) aspirin or acetaminophen (tylenol) per day
- Exposure to herbicides and pesticides such as farm work, handling produce and pest control
- Exposure to chemicals found in industrial sites, hair salons, gas stations, and auto repair shops
- Long-term prescription drug therapy including anti-depressants, birth control pills and cholesterol lowering drugs (to name a few)
- Recreational drug use
- Mononucleosis, hepatitis and jaundice
- Long-term constipation. The rotting and decaying fecal material found in the intestinal tract produces toxins that are absorbed into the bloodstream, which are then filtered through the liver
